The Koç School

The school that pioneered the IB in Türkiye, and the campus MUNDP has called home since 2001.

A wooded campus on the Asian side of the city, built by one of Türkiye's great philanthropic foundations and home to MUNDP for over two decades.

The Koç School opened in 1988 as a project of the Vehbi Koç Foundation, established by Vehbi Koç, one of Türkiye's most celebrated entrepreneurs and philanthropists, who received the United Nations Population Award in 1994. That same year the school became the first in Türkiye to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and its graduates go on to universities like Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge.

The campus covers 151 wooded acres in Tepeören, in the Tuzla district, a deliberate distance from the noise of the city. Around 2,200 students learn here from kindergarten through grade 12, some of them boarding on campus, with facilities to match: a 900 seat auditorium, the Suna Kıraç Library, a dedicated science building and a full sports complex. Since 2001 it has also hosted MUNDP, the first Model United Nations conference in the world built around the UN Development Programme.

The places you will actually be

Atakan Demirseren Conference Hall

The school's auditorium, where the whole conference gathers as one room for the opening and closing ceremonies and the plenary session.

Science Building

The conference's home base. Committee rooms are spread across its floors, so most of your debating hours happen here.

The Pyramid

The glass roofed atrium at the crossroads of the campus, and its natural meeting point. If you lose your delegation, start here.

Cafeteria

The school cafeteria sits right next to the conference hall, which keeps the walk between morning session and lunch mercifully short.

The Alley

The covered walkway that runs through the school, linking the entrance, the courtyards and the Pyramid. You will walk it many times a day, rain or not.

Main Entrance

The gatehouse on the road, where buses and visitors arrive on campus each morning and depart each evening.
